Private Tuition

Nicola has played the flute and piano from a very young age and studied both instruments at Birmingham Conservatoire where she achieved a BA(Hons) music. Nicola is grade 8 in Flute, Piano, and Music Theory. She has also achieved performance and teaching diplomas from The Trinity College of Music and The Birmingham School of Music.

At present, Nicola has no availability to take on new pupils. However, do not let this prevent you from getting in touch to discuss ways forward (updated June 2024)

Music is the universal language of mankind.

Instrumental Tuition

Nicola has taught piano and flute to both children and adults for many years, including complete beginners to adults wanting to revisit their instrument. All round musicianship through children fostering a lifelong love of music and connection with their instrument is of paramount importance to Nicola, as well as of course seeing improvement and progress in playing, skills and instrumental technique. All students are given the option of taking musical grades from Grade 1 to Grade 8 with the examination boards ABRSM and Trinity College of Music.

Vocal Coaching

Because of Nicola’s work as a singer and choir leader and her desire for everyone to discover the joy of singing, she now helps people to find and develop their singing voices through 1:1 vocal coaching. Whether it be for GCSE preparation or to simply explore, foster and develop your own interest/love of singing, Nicola will help you to ‘discover’ your natural singing voice in a safe environment, helping you use it effectively and confidently. But most of all, the lessons will help you to experience the joy of singing and its many wonderful benefits to our wellbeing.

Music is the tool to express life – and all that makes a difference.

What to expect

Lessons are generally on a 1:1 basis, but in some cases, children can receive lessons on a 2:1 basis if this suits their needs.

All individual lessons are supported and enhanced through opportunities to perform in concerts to family and friends. This helps to consolidate, showcase, and celebrate the hard work of everyone as well as boost confidence and self-esteem.
