A few words about Nicola

Nicola Betts

Nicola with 12 York Mumbler awards

Nicola has been performing since the age of 12, playing and singing in school events, at festivals, in shows and concerts in choirs, bands and orchestras.

Nicola went on to train at Birmingham Conservatoire as a flautist and pianist and from there she has enjoyed a rich and diverse career in music as a teacher, recording artist, performer, composer, choir leader, worship leader and community musician.

Nicola is passionate about sharing her love of singing and music making with her local community. This stems from a strong belief that music is a powerful tool which can be used to engage and unite people, impacting and benefitting everyone’s emotional, social, and physical wellbeing in wonderful ways.

Nicola’s work as a community musician is inclusive, engaging, educational and creative. It reaches out to everyone from the age of 0-80+ years old. It is Nicola’s desire that all who participate in her choirs, music groups for children and grown-ups, instrumental tuition and vocal coaching will benefit greatly through experiencing creativity and joy within an environment that is friendly, uplifting and most of all, fun!
